Fritz 12 - Position Setup

I'm trying to set up a position in Fritz 12 running on Windows 7 64 bit. Just did a fresh re-install/repair to try to fix this problem but no luck.
Insert -> Position Setup brings up the screen shown below:
But this is different from what it shows in the help manual and documentation - there should be pieces displayed on the right hand side that I can choose to add to the board, but it's all just blank?? Any ideas? Thanks.
