I'm no expert, but my impression was that Fritz is generally felt to have the best training features for most levels of player. Personally I use Fritz 16 and have no major issues with it. I'd be interested to hear some details of this bug if you don't mind sharing?
Fritz vs Hiarcs

Hello.
Thanks for your quick response. First, I use Fritz 14, not 16. And I've never used other versions. And my OS is Windows 8.1
I use "Full Analysis" or sometimes "Blunder Check" to review my games. Once analysis is done, I turn "Infinite Analysis" on, and review step by step.
In many cases, it works, but sometimes "Full Analysis" stops while analyzing. It seems it depends on specific PGN. I mean if it doesn't work for a certain PGN, for example, PGN X, then neither "Full Analysis" nor "Blunder Check" work for this PGN X even after re-starting Fritz.
But I'm sure this PGN X itself doesn't have an issue. It is correctly loaded on Fritz, and other functions such as "Indefinite Analysis" works.
Best,

It could be a bug in Fritz, or it could be something nonstandard in the PGN that's giving Fritz heartburn. It might be fun for you to post one of the problem PGNs in case we can see something wrong with it. Or, you could download the free Lucas Chess and try the problem PGNs with LC's analysis feature.

Thanks.
Actually the PGN is made by a program, "ChessMaster Grand Edition". And if I remember well, sometimes I saw the same issue by PGN made by chess.com.
I don't know how to upload the PGN file itself here. Meanwhile Lucas Chess can read the file.
Best,

Thanks.

Best,
Ah, Chessmaster...It's very likely that the Chessmaster PGN has something in it that Fritz can't handle. It's a roundabout method, but you could upload a problem PGN file to www.sendspace.com, and post the download link here.

The strongest chess program on earth for traditional engines (unless you have strong gpu for leela) = Stockfish
The most human like program (best chess selling program)= chessmaster series. https://www.amazon.com/Chessmaster-Grandmaster-Linux/dp/B000SL4ANE?th=1

Hi.
The PGN file is here.
https://www.sendspace.com/file/r6k6h4
In the file, there are 57 games. And, for example, my Fritz 14 cannot finish its analysis for the 56th game, although it can finish its analysis for the 57th game.
At least I cannot find any strange input for the 56th game when I looked at the file with a text editor.

In addition, I tried "Paste Game" instead of loading the game from the PGN. The game is the 56th one in the file. Then the program stopped at the same place, 54.Ke3.
So I think it is not a matter of PGN file itself.

You might be right. I can't see anything wrong with the PGN file. It works OK in Arena and my old Fritz 8 GUI. Maybe it IS a bug in Fritz 14.
Hi.
I am a beginner and use Fritz 14 for analysis of my games. I sometimes face an issue for analysis, which I think might be a bug.
Yesterday I asked this issue on this board and learnt there is another program, called Hiarcs. I looked at the web site of the program and it looks fine. But it costs a bit, so I wanted to ask your opinion what kind of pros. and cons it has, compared with Fritz. Now I use Fritz 14, but can purchase 15 or 16 if necessary.
I'm not so interested in which engine is stronger. Both must be strong enough for me. Rather I am interested in which is useful for my learning.
Thanks.
