Does one have to be a paying member to view/download these two files? When I view your profile I see the two links

but clicking on these links takes me to this page:

Question: If I already have the moves to a game, is your method faster than just entering the moves into any of the dozens of different GUIs that are available (using your mouse to move the chess pieces), and then just saving the game as a pgn file? It seems to me just moving pieces on the board would be much, much faster, and more accurate rather than typing the score.
I have written an uncomplicated excel programme ( QuickChessInput .xls ) which is aimed at simplifying the process of converting a scoresheet record to a pgn file. The most vexing part of this process is capitalizing the symbols for the pieces. Now with my programme, you just type in everything in small letters. The saving of time is considerable if a lot of scoresheets are involved.
There are a few rules in the input process:
( a ) There is no need to type in the move numbers. The programme takes care of this. Just type in the moves corresponding to the correct move numbers in Column B. After typing in a white move, type a dot and then type in the black move. ( e.g.e4.e5 , nf3.nf6etc )
( b ) For a piece capturing or giving check, don’t type “x” or “+” . So, the piece moves Bf4 , Bxf4 and Bxf4+ have the same input of bf4.
( c ) A pawn move is nothing special but if a pawn captures another pawn or piece, the capture sign must be typed. e.g. fxg7. If it is a check, there is no need to type “+”.
The excel programme QuickChessInput .xls and the manual have already been uploaded separately . If you need to convert a lot of scoresheet records to pgn , I hope this can really help you.
