isn't it time players get penalised in points for simply abandoning a game without making a move? I understand players who do this often get a suspension but it just waste everyone's time if someone just abandon if they not get preferred board colour or not like opponent rating. Why not just punish them with a defeat?

They do get a few chances to abort games and then the abort option goes away. All they can do is play or resign.

Even so it simply a waste of time allowing players to abort games. Even if it just a few games. I don't see the point. If you chose not to play a tournament game you get a loss. Why should that be different if someone just draws a random they not like look of playing. That should be a defeat in my opinion.
