No kidding. This guy's been a member for almost 2 years and for his first post ever he decides to whine about a topic that gets 3 new threads a week.
Game Adjudication Please?

@ cystems-phailure
Well I am not whining, for like others like you perhaps I have been guilty of dribbling the game to annoy an obnoxious opponent. However I have seen through the unproductivity of the exercise.
I don't need 1495 posts to give an opinion do I ? Or is that another adjudication on your part to one's rights to express an opinion?
On OTB games adjudication could be well subject to a lot of controversy more so if a clear advantage by any player cannot be clearly seen.
However on online tournament games here at Chess.Com perhaps there can be room for this. Now I am talking about LOST positions and lopsided difference in materail on the board where adjudication can be applied.
Imagine if your victory is forthcoming within lets say a few more moves and your opponent goes on vacation every now and then when he gets low on time which he can afford perhaps to prolong with more vacation allowance if he is a paying subscriber.
Again Adjudication can be applied for the end results are very clearly defined.
Adjudication also assures the rating of a player is always updated and current to his win loss record since no delay of rightful victory or eminent defeat is prolonged.
Well for those who ain't into the habit of resigning lost positions then thats your cup of tea who cares. Nobody can change who you are but really your a poser huh. And probably the biggest loser.
Adjudication of totally lost online tournament games are for the progressive chess players of today. It is certainly not for the systematic failures of the game.
Just think about how Kobe Bryant would fare out if they didn't take away the FREEZE the ball in the game huh?
For many who are engaged in online tournaments, match games or challenges. Nothing can be more annoying than to experience the opponents refusal to resign inspite of an obviously bancrupt position.
Although we do acknowledge the players right to go on as he please, I believe it doesn't do justice at all for the overall enjoyment of play. For one thing if the person really is interested in knowing how he would end there is the convenience of post game analysis is there. Of course we are just referring to games which are obviously being made to drag on even in futile circumstances in hope of the losing player perhaps still winning on time should the winning party fail to take note of his clock.
It's nice to see that at times the games are automatically decided upon due to lack of material on both sides. Can't we have the best of both worlds too by having a provision for a player to request for adjudication even if made exclusive only for subscriber members?
it's hard enough that there are many cheats out there already playing with engine tools on hand must we suffer even to this lowest form of annoying delay? The solution of Adjudicating lost games will also speed up tournament results considerably indeed. Nobody needs to wait forever anymore, so please let's put an end to the FREEZE.
I do hope this matter could be seriously considered for the common good of all.
