Game glitches and false game outcomes

You lost your connection. That explains why you never saw your opponent's reply.

Two or three people complain about this every day. Tens of thousands don't. If it were a common problem, affecting perhaps several hundred people per day, don't you think the forums would be swamped with complaints?

Isn't it much more likely that you lost your connection because of something on your end?

Your comment "If it were a common problem, affecting perhaps several hundred people per day, don't you think the forums would be swamped with complaints?" is flawed.  Commonly, people are screwed over by any number of things outside of their control...it doesn't always equate to a one-to-one correlation with forum complaint frequency.

Not that it's a big deal, just frustrating.  All I'm doing is asking to get a feel from other players.  If you don't like it, don't read it, and certainly don't comment.

The game clock is not always in accord with the server. I think it is ticking on your time until you make a move and then it is ticking on your opponent's time, then sending the information to the server. It will be putting your opponent's time down, but the information might not reach the server so if that happens, your opponent will not see your move and your time will still be ticking down for him since the information hasn't reached the server yet. Once the information reaches the server, it signals the server to 'push the chess clock' and then your time will be corrected.

So imagine if you are with a friend and you have a chess clock. You press one side of the clock and send a message to him to press his clock. He then does the same thing. Now imagine if you press the clock and then send a message, but the message doesn't send because the connection is bad. For you, his clock is ticking and for him, your clock is ticking because you could not send the signal. It's not exactly like this since there is a server, but it should help you understand.

I had pices dissapear during a blitz game most noteably  my queen. I had my opponent beat but my queen was blanked out . he moved but anywhere i clicked was not working. The queen reappeared after he beat me on time ; which I had him beat on time before the glitch happened

Try disconnecting your Internet, and have a look at the windows clock. It's still running! What sorcery is that anyway?
