Game Rating

There are enough threads trashing the new game analysis look and feel, so I would like to take a minute and ask about something I really like:  The Game Rating.

Questions:

1.  What is it exactly?  (How is it calculated and/or derived?)
2.  Is it "accurate" (and in this context, what does accuracy mean?) or is it just entertaining?  I am OK with either, I would just like to know.

I ask because some times I win games and feel like I played really well and get a low rating and vice versa.

Also, depending on the answers to #1 and #2, a good idea might be to add some type of distribution curve somewhere (and since I really liked the old game analysis look and feel, I won't even try to suggest what that would look like in the new world we live in, but I think anything would be useful.)

There are aren't many details other than it takes the Game Review accuracies and the player's associated rating to derive the rating. If you take the exact same game and change the player ratings you'll get different results.

It's not something that should be taken very seriously, at least in its current implementation.

Thanks Martin. It seems to me that with all the modeling that is possible now (I'm a data scientist), coupled with the db of games that measure in the very high numbers seems like that is something that should be more useful. That said, it is entertaining.
So though I don't like the answer, I do really appreciate the honesty and directness. Thanks much.
