I'm new . looked at the open challenges... Two day moves? What is it with these people. Do they write to Deep Blue for their moves?

Maybe 14 day/move is more your speed? That gives you time to build a computer and program your own version of Deep Blue instead

First sweet pea.. I couldn't build a bird box for your brain, let alone a computer. Second having tried several 1 day move games who needs more than a day to move. Third I play mainly 30 minute games, and I still get the impression some are duplicating on a computer. They run out of time. How do they manage that.

It's called "Correspondence Chess". It used to be played(probably still is) by sending your move to your opponent via snail mail. The idea is that you have a bunch of time to consider moves and eliminate blunders. Rules differ between people, with some agreeing to use an engine to help analyze positions.

I need 3 days a move. Mostly because it is fairly simple way to learn chess, giving you enough time to avoid rushed moves, and time to decide which of dozens games I would want to play first. When (if) I will eliminate blunders, and start feeling comfortable when playing 1900+ opponents, I might consider moving down the timescale.

Have seen one of your 30 minutes games, 30 moves and still 25 minutes on the clock remaining?

Your opening game looks good.

Thank you for your comments . I don't have the patients for 1900 simultaneous games. And while its nice to win, not fussed if I lose. I enjoy the 30 min while watching the news on TV or over a meal..can't just sit there and study a board.. I think if I did that I would loose very few against my current level..Conceited yes I suppose so.. Fairways and greens are my goals..The Chess I enjoy but started for the grey cells stimulus.. Live long and prosper.
