Don't worry about grammar, you made the most solid point out of anyone in the thread so far. I too don't think that the gap is going to get any narrower
Gap between male and female players is getting wider each day

all of this is rubbish.
Women have education, opportunities and guidance, women just choose not to play chess because it doesn't play into our strengths or interests as much as men.
It's the same reason a majority of nurses are female. Men and women perform differently at different things. This will never change no matter how much you pressurise society.
Men and women are different, and that's not something to criticise, thats something to embrace.

if you plot hou yifan's ratings progress it is almost identical to nakamura's until the moment she decided to not dedicate her life to chess. unlike most men like nakamura, she looked at the chess landscape and accepted that she would be nothing more than a top 10 player and for whatever reason thought there were more important things in life than just being a chess player. only chess people think that being the ninth best player in the world is an important thing to be

Alexandra kostenuik did very well last year by winning a lot of golds and prizes in the women's section, yet in the Airthings masters she is getting absolutely destroyed and it seems impossible for her to even get a draw. Can we conclude that with the increasing popularity of chess the gap between men and women is getting even wider?
It's really disheartening to see how big the gap has actually become. Maybe chess's best chance to have a female world chess champion is for chess to drop out of popularity so that the most talented and hard working men don't join the game? Your thoughts on it?
The simple answer to your question is a resounding no.
You cannot make assumptions about any gap using a single person as an example.
in 2018 nakamura had been playing chess full time for a couple of years and hou yifan was in graduate school about to complete her doctorate. there is no evidence to support your claim that nakamura had more talent. their progression was the same until she decided to focus on studies.
you are not making any substantive points that i have already not admitted to. she did not lack determination and focus, she used her determination and focus on studying to get a phd not chess. now she is a college professor and nakamura is a streamer who calls pawns juicers and lavishes praise upon xQc.
you might be good at making the colors on the sides of cubes the same but you are not very good at making coherent arguments
I don't want to argue further, the original point and my own point remains, women have proven to be way less effective in chess than men. I doubt we will ever see a female world champion, maybe it's just genetic differences between the brains? no one would know.
My personal theory as to why women do so badly in any non physical endeavor is since men are known to have more obsessive personalities. Sadly so far my theory has been proven right. Top level chess will likely be dominated by men as long as chess remains relevant
