Fischer constantly accused Kasparov and Karpov of prearranging matches(and other Soviet players, but Karpov and Kasparov were the two primary targets.)  Fischer has said many maniacal things.

"I studied that first Karpov-Kasparov match for a year and a half before I cracked it, what they were doing, and discovered that it was all prearranged move-by-move. There's no doubt of it in my mind."

-Bobby Fischer, 1999

"I was going to do a book about the first prearranged Karpov-Kasparov match, '84-'85. But the God-damn Jews have stolen my entire file on that."

-Bobby Fischer, 2002

And those two statements are not that unreasonable. Fischer was continually saying that these moves were not being played "over the board", they were arranged beforehand in opening theory. That was the point. If you listen to the full radio interview that he said that second one in, he studied the game for a year and a half before he realized that they were not coming up with these moves over the board at all but on paper in theory beforehand, and that sometimes the entire game was played this way. It's not unusual for a very strong player to study single games or even single positions for a very long time, trying to understand logically the exact purposes of every move as much as possible, and Fischer used to do that when he was world champion also. It is hugely different if they were able to come up with the moves over the board with a couple of minutes for each move. To you and I it might seem pretty much the same because we're clueless, however to one of the greatest players ever it was an extraordinary difference and highly unethical to claim they were coming up with such moves over the board.

A lot of his belongings were taken from a storage unit when he failed to keep up payments on it, so that's how he lost his notes and many of his books. It seems harsh he lost so much stuff over failure to keep up payments on time.

I know what his point was, and yes I've listened to the whole interview.  That doesn't make his claims any less absurd.

He was disavowed. He knew the risk before the tape self-destructed.

Magnus Carlson when he was an innocent youngster (before changing his name to Carlsen)

Magnus a few years later, recently recruited by the NSS (Norwegian Secret Service)

Current pic of Magnus, smuggled out by Interpol:

Under the guise of being a "chess master", Magnus allegedly travels all over the world, playing pre-arranged games while assassinating foreign dignataries and world leaders.

For example, while participating in the world cup in Khanty-Mansiysk (2004-2005), the NSS denied any knowledge that Magnus was involved in the disposal of one Zalimkhan Yandarbiyev via a car bomb:

Although I doubt that this KGB stuff is at all true since it comes from Fischer, a chess player did get to travel to many places, mostly big cities in the west, giving them and their "seconds" many chances to infiltrate into restricted arias.

Correction, that'd be areas, not arias.  Although, if they sing, then arias might also be open to them.

Of course Kasparov was KGB, but only during the first part of his first championship match vs Karpov. When down 5 points, he switched to CIA and won three games thanks to alien computers.

Ouch, I thought he was less deliriant than that even in his late days.

In France, even the hard-line antisemits started to have some doubts about this in the early XXth, as they started unofficial inquiries to discredit the Jews during the Dreyfus case (and found nothing of that sort, of course).

The problem here is that even if part of the Russian and a majority (I suppose) of other countries support that band, the average Russian is still very orthodox - and the (legitimate if you want my opinion) political message was disregarded because of the means to deliver it. Kind of "maybe they speak the truth, but I don't want to hear that because they are not believers"

Kasparov was set free because he has public support. And he is not that dangerous politically speaking ; even if Putin is a bloody dictator and autocrat, Russia's standards of living have dramatically increased during his reign (sorry, term) and a significant part of the population supports him.

And I suppose the fact that Garrik Bolodenka Kasparov's initials are an anagram of KGB is completely irrelevant.

Kasparov has been, since birth, warning us of his KGB ties but we have been too blind to listen. Now, it is too late. Fools!

To be honest im also a believer in putin. I totally agree with the french actor who said that the opposition is an unorganized joke, but then again i havent really studied them but from the looks and the news it really seems like it.

"It's because of Fischer that I'm involved in chess," says Larry Tamarkin, a manager at the Marshall Chess Club, a legendary New York parlor frequented by Fischer in his teens. "But I can't help feeling a sense of betrayal, anger, and sadness. You devote your entire life to one player and find out he's completely off his rocker."

Indeed.
