I have challenged you to an unrated daily game Brian.
Can some help me improve my game?

I suggest you post up some recent games (preferably losses) in the analysis section, including your own thoughts and I am certain you will receive some useful advice from the experienced players here, about the games you played. I can vouch for this. Personally I would watch the 5 videos on youtube created by IM John Bartholomew titled Chess Fundamentals. A really useful series of videos for beginners. Good luck. Dan

Hi, I'm usually between 1100-1250 (relatively new) and I was hoping an experienced player could play with me, give me some tips, and tell me where I should work on improvement. Would very much appreciate it, thanks!
Hi Brian, nice to hear that you want to improve. I am just a little bit stronger than you, but I will try to go through one of your games to see what you are doing.

This is harder to organise a time to play etc. Daily game no problem. Easier to improve playing daily I think anyway because you can take your time and use the analysis board.
No one is going to sit with you and explain the game for free, not unless they see this comment of course and do help you for free to prove me wrong as a rebellious gesture.
My ratings are
Bullet - 1500
Rapid - 1700
And OTB classical somewhere higher as I feel I play at a better rating when playing for a longer time period (I know the quality goes down of course but I'm talking about what I'm better at naturally).
I used to play loads of chess online without studying up until the 1600 rating in rapid however I started studying chess properly from books, my rapid isn't a good reflection of how much I've improved since.
But I can tell you the book I used to help me improve and you can either take it seriously or not.
Books I finished reading:
-
Books I've almost finished reading:
- My System by Aron Nimzowitsch
Books I plan on reading in future:
- Devoretsky's Endgame Manual 4th Edition by Mark Devoretsky
- Fundamental Chess Endings by Karsten Müller and Frank Lamprecht
- Questions of Modern Chess Theory by Isaac Lipinitsky
- Chess Praxis by Aron Nimzowitch

Yo will probably just have to put in time to get good without someone helping you along the way for free.
