English is different. Four knights game does not have a pawn on c4, which adds extra pressure on d5, also it can be a target for black.

Italian game has brought me to 1300-1400, but after that you'll need to learn Sicilian, because 1. …c5 is getting more popular than 1. …e5. My favorite opening is 1. Nf3+Fianchetto, basically a KID.
