chess is so boring, i picked up recently and i am glad i am done with it before i look back 40 years

I agree, thanks to internet,youtube and online engines chess has become a game of memorization, More often than so you feel like our opponent isnt actually analyzing the position or calculating anything, rather just playing moves he memorized from a "5 best traps of said position" youtube video, low rated dudes are blasting out theory moves up to move 20 with seconds, giving it zero thought, and if they get it wrong they are confused and instantly resigne. Seems like people are just playing to see if youtube traps actually works without understanding any of the memorized moves. It is sad actually, plus the growing number of blatant cheaters and rating hunters make it even more miserable, this wasnt as bad a couple of years ago, but it has gotten worse year after year.
