I had not realised, your question was rhetorical. You answer your own question, as you like.

Shave you beard first, I can't understand a word you're saying

This is going to start war.

Lets all go back on topic, now this is a bit of a personal question. Does anyone here want to become a doctor one day?

I am a doctor. I had to drop playing serious chess and OTB tourments in medical school as it was a considerable waste of time.  I am now playing chess online off and on.

That is what a lot of parents think. Chess could be a waste of time if its not getting you anywhere.

I was really struggling for my time to play tournament chess. I played chess to get money in my university student life in Myanmar. Chess clubs hire good chess players for their clubs for club championship tournaments. . One tournaments usually take 7-9 days. If I play 3 to 4 tournaments in a year, I miss classes for 4 weeks - 5 weeks. Later, I chose a different better way to get money during uni life.  My rank was somewhere around top 100-200 I guess. Even top 10 Titled players could not get proper money for their living. It made me hopeless for playing chess.

Well the top players in chess are rich. Plus I mean play in big tournaments and teach other players to earn extra  $$$

Do you mean world top 100 players?. Being world top 100 is much much lower chance than winning a millionaire lotteries.

To say rich, you have to compare with other professions (tennis players, soccer players, pop singers or top 100 richest businessmen etc, just google how much those people get).

In comparison with those other professions, income from chess is very very low. Apart from world top 100, other GM and IM can't make proper money from tournaments. (private coaching should be regard as working extra hour though, it is not income from professional play)

Your not wrong. Besides you can do extra work for a lot of money. Chess is a popular game and you should try to get a title to start a career out of chess.

Darn it, it must have took forever.

Smos-555

Chess normally is not a money earning career, its just a fun game. Not just any game, it is good for you at the same time.
