i think iam missreading somthing tbh
why do i only get 7/8/9 plus when winning
do u loose more if ur on a loose streak ?coz iam sure at iam at a bigger loss vs gain if so just need to get more consistent an learn more eitherway XD
one thing is annoying an i kinda feel bad even when it goes my way is u can win streak an depending on ur oppent if u loose u could loose like 30 , i guess it kinda doubles down on learning the game an being consistent but its a kick to the nuts when u do well an drop ur entire grin in 3 games
So I had stopped playing on chess.com for a while (like a year or so) and now I'm back. Before this I used to get barely any rating points when playing opponents rated higher than me (like +7 or +10 for people 100 rating points above me), but now everything is normal. Now I'm getting about 20+ points for beating opponents rated higher than me.
As you play more games that will decrease back to where it was
I just played a game now againt someone with rating 1209, iam 1231. he won fair i got -9 and he got +47 why ?
Why ?
Because his rating is provisional- so far he has played only 14 games.
rating deviation can't be all there is. when I made a new account and had 800 and was playing 800s, I always got 40-70 points. now I only get 8-15, even though I play people with the same deviation. I think it must be something about how many games you've been at that level. some confidence thing making it harder to change your elo the more sure the system is of your skill level.
rating deviation alone does not explain it.

Every game you play decreases your RD value. The more you play, the less uncertainty there is. That value will settle at a certain level and you'll see similar rating changes after games. If you play someone with a much higher RD value, it should have less impact on rating.

Do you really know your RD? They don't post it on your profile. They stopped posting it years ago probably because it confused people.

This is a page showing the RD for your different ratings.
It says your current RD for rapid is 49. Statistically, that is one standard deviation. Two standard deviations or 98 points, above and below your present rating is the 95% confidence interval.
Your rapid rating is currently 400. The RD means that there is a 95% statistical likelihood that your "real" rating is somewhere between 302 and 498.
Your RD for daily, blitz and bullet are at least twice that level.

ive been getting minus 100 plus 8 think its broken
It doesn't look like that in your archive.
(100) just means your rating was 100.
Your rating can't go lower than 100.
