Disconnects happen and it has nothing to do with your opponent since your opponent never directly connects to your client or has any information about your connection. All traffic goes from the client to the Live server process. That process then decides how much time was actually taken for the move (after lag corrections), and send the move and updated clock information to the other client along with any chat.

 

Anything your opponent tries in order to impact your connection is more likely to impact theirs instead.
