Thailand is 95% Buddhist. I don’t think religion plays any part in playing style. I’m quite sure you will find Buddhists who play many different styles of Chess.

I had the same Idea. Only one way to find out!

Whatever religion you are, leave your gun at home and play to kill.

You can tell if someone's good at chess by their MIND,not their RELIGION.Even if someone were to be a Christian,Muslim,Hindu,Buddhist,or any other religion, you can see if you're good at chess by how you think.I'm not saying I'm a good player (since I lost 75% of my games) but I'm just saying religion really doesn't matter.

It's not about "religion." It's about, at least as far as I'm concerned, focusing the mind via the practice of meditation. I know Christians, Jews and even atheists who meditate.

No, I'm not a quitter anymore. After I found my feet at the weight watchers class I quit. So, no more quitting after that!

Lol.😋

No. Even if kapilavastu is in Nepal(debatable), still Buddhism was born in Kashi and Gaya(both in India). Gaya was supposedly the place where Buddha was enlightened and Kashi was the place where he preached his religion for the first time.

As for chess, it is also an Indian invention.

That the 1984 quote: "War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength." I'm beginning to think Orwell simply had his dates wrong.

Apparently, Tiger Woods is Buddhist. From his mom's side of the family, I'm sure. I learned meditation from my hair stylist, who is Buddhist. She is one of the most serene people I know. I think mindfulness really could help my chess game and I'm going to try it out this weekend.
