Is chess.com easier than other sites?

Other sites use a different rating system. I'm consistently 200 points higher on other sites than here. I don't think it has anything to do with the competition.

A rating is only valuable for predicting results in relation to other players on the same site using the same time control. 

Different sites use the same Elo Glicko system but have assigned different starting points. Chess.com used to start everyone at 1200 but a couple of years ago started letting people self-assess as to their starting skill level, assigning 800 to self-described beginners and 1800 to advanced players. The theory was that actual game play would soon put people's ratings where they ought to be.
