Shall I pay to watch WCC?

I paid. I complained about the glitches yesterday, but it was all sorted out by the end of the game so hopefully it all works for the rest of the games. I like the live camera feeds though I wish the camera angles were a bit different, and that there was some kind of audio for them (only the main view has an audio feed of the commentators).

I have to say that Agon's coverage of the Candidate's Championship turned out ok, despite the initial hiccups - they were all over the place on day one but the remainder of the coverage was great.

I didnt watch it this year. Did you have to pay for it?

I dont remember having to pay on line for anything before..

Also, I think there is something a bit unpleasant about Argon suing other sites.  Seems a bit mean.

Yes, this should be like in 19th century, you come to the café, shake hands with both players and start the kibitz while ordering a pint out loud.

pdela

they can do nothing, once a move is played it become "news" and everyone has freedom to report news

You had to register on their website but it was free. They used that event to showcase their platform and, yes, I would say it was very good after the initial glitches had been ironed out.

That link worked yesterday. Perfect stream with the commentary. Hopefully it still works today and for the rest of the championship.

Excellent!

I was watching some of the Norwegian stream with a VPN. I can't understand what they're saying but they have a board setup so I can see the moves they're suggesting and talking about.

I don't have the time to sit and watch the whole match so for me, paying to watch isn't worth it.

I like getting glimpses of the match just to see what it looks like, and later watching post-game analysis by more preferred commentators.

Does this actually work? With this you can view the official broadcast for free?

Here's the official Norwegian stream which is free (and legal):

One could theoretically watch the Norwegian stream on mute while listening to chess24 commentary. Probably the best experience.
Carla-Magnusson

Thats a great idea :)

Pulpofeira

Thanks, luckily there's a commentary in Spanish in chess24 too, spoken English isn't very different from Norwegian for me.

Pulpofeira

Ms. Polgar is awesome. I even can catch some of her words.  Smile

Where did they find that anchorman though?

"Wow! He's really thinking! You can tell by his body language!"

Que?

Pulpofeira

In such cases my line is "Madre de Dios..."

Pulpofeira

Or the spaghetti monster, whatever.
