Capablanca was correct and you are wrong; chess isn't 100% tactics - even if only joking.
Granted, tactics is very useful, but it is over-rated. What you intend to convey is the importance of pattern recognition and to this I agree, but so would Capablanca I'm sure. Endgame knowledge is essential from a strategy standpoint especially. It helps greatly to have confidence in your endgame ability and then be able to steer middlegames into those endgames
