Why can the discussion creator block people from posting on their discussion?

Because very few people truly want freedom, equality, or the free exchange of ideas entailed by such ideals. Those words are often lip-service by folks who are in the minority and otherwise have little power or control. Once someone has control and power, s/he wants to preserve it all costs, at the expense of freedom, equality, and free exchange of ideas, and that unfortunately is human nature.

This site recognizes and profits from this natural human tendency. It is more lucrative for the site to allow members to be able create and control their own forum content in the manner of totalitarian dictatorship, than it is to force individuals to abide by rules that promote free exchange of ideas.
