He teaches on an app
Why there is no book written by Magnus Carlsen?

As ABC_of_EVERYTHING mentions, he has an app, does lots of work on the two chess playing sites that he owns, and has started producing a video series for one of them. My guess would be that his interest is more focused on the digital platform. From what I've heard in interviews, books don't seem to translate into too much of a profit, so the return on time investment would be very small...especially for someone that appears to have very little free time at this point in his endeavors.

Why do you suggest that Magnus Carlsen owes you or anyone else anything?

"Is that why because of he has a natural-born ability"
These "natural born" apples are not grown far from the tree.
1. Polgar sisters had their father Laszlo.
2. Wolfgang Mozart had Leopald
3. Paul Morphy had Alonzo
4. Ben had Jerry (wait a minute, I am just hungry for ice cream, scratch that)
5. Wynton, Branford (and the others) Marsalis had Ellis
6. Michael, Tito, etc... Jackson had Joe
7. Bobby, Peter, and Greg had Michael
8. Cindy, Jan, and Marcia had Carol
9. Alice called the butcher guy daddy
10. Doogie Howser had Henrik

That, and he is making real money winning tourneys, modeling, and endorsing product s. When he is an old hack he can make money writing and selling chess books. But that will be later in his career.

Magnus Carlsen let's his record speak for itself.
Also, he has his own app for teaching chess. I'd say that's way more than he could fit into several books, and it's interactive.

Are the ages at set levels? They haven't been changed over the years? So, if you played the same line and won in 2018, you would still win in 2020?

I guess. I mean, every year, when Magnus grows older, they make a new level. Passing Magnus age 20 is itself a challenge.

But they don't change Magnus at 10 ever?

He makes more money from playing chess, and even if he did want to write books, he might not be a good writer. Just because you're good at playing doesn't mean you're good at coaching or writing books.

poop is funny
now there is a comment we can all finally agree on! thanking you for reminding us there is much that unites us, even though there a some things that divide us.

Bobby Fischer did not actually write his own books. He had a shadow writer who would endorse his brand and make money off his name, and Fischer wasn't happy about the deal but he never explicitly told them to get lost.

I've never used Magnus Carlsen's app, but I know it's primarly used to learn better chess. Also, I think he run's contests or something on it, where the winner gets to play Magnus Carlsen.
That's pretty much all I know.
How many chess books have you bought?
A successful chess book sells relatively few copies.
