if u dont know opening then the 1900 who does know them will more often than not beat u
Learn how to play slow. At least this is my own problem, too many times I play some move without thinking because at first glance it seems logical.
Even in CC games I can't get rid of "bullet" style of playing chess. And that is (most probably) main problem.
Of course, learn opening, endgames and main tactical motifs. In fact "learn chess". 
imo long chess is the most boring thing on earth blitz chess is cool for fun

ICC just came out with a video series that is suppose to teach you to become a master. I think it goes something like this, A Grand master, before he was a GM, got good without studying chess at all, but when he started to actually study for long hours of the day, he didn't get any better. It wasn't until he understood the secrets told in that CD until he became a GM! So better buy them!
