Getting better without a coach

Hello chess.com I have a chess goal of reaching a rating of 1400 Fide by 2015 and I don't know we're to start with study and I cannot afford a chess coach or video courses someone please help me

Read books with lots of game analysis, or stuff with openings, endgames, tactics, etc. Don't even purchase them, just borrow from your local library. Libraries have a surprisingly good selection of chess books.

I have done the courses already and I have no money to upgrade my mebership

There are all kinds of chess videos for free on youtube.  There's a lot of crap but some outstanding presenters as well including the prestigous St. Louis Chess Club.  Have you ever checked out NM Heisman's web site?  I'll give you a link to 10 years of his monthly chess columns.
