Give it to me straight. If I am under 1000 elo after almost 2k games w/ studying, am I simply dumb?

you should just forget about your rating though ive seen club players online playing at "2000" the rating system isnt even accurate globally, nor on here. It cant handle millions of people

theres no way im 1100 rapid but thats my rating because its too much work trying to play perfectly every game just to increase my rating by 5 points, i climbed up from 600 to 1500 over about 4 years and i dropped all the way down to 1100 it happens in video games too not just chess, people cant sustain the level of effort to improve their rating by a couple hundred points. You should almost make it your goal to have a crappy rating sometimes so you can forget about it
