trophies are for people giving another a digital sign of their admiration (or whatever). in truth, the best way to get a trophy is to join a live or daily tournament and win more than other people in that tournament.
must other trophies are "gag" gifts that are more a snarky message to someone.
very rarely, people will give a trophy a game. I'm not really a big fan of those kinds of trophies, either. A game is a game, and if you did good and won- you got your reward.
I have played and won a couple trophies for an live tournament and I thought the trophy made it fun.
