Why can't I castle when my king is in check?

That's a rule.. you cannot castle when your king is in check,when one of the squares the king would have to go through in order to castle is attacked,or when your king and rook have moved at least 1time

because no king can castle when he is in check. (Caslteling requires construction, time, and a free mind. When the king is in check, he is too busy escaping the attacks).
