nice!
GM Susan Polgar visited our chess club!
It is a fun place to be, really. We're the only club in town where you can get a beer and order food. They have won best burger in Kansas City for the past 22 years in a row. MMMMM. And they have so many micro-brews on tap!
That would make chess an expensive hobby for me, do my game no good, and fatten me up, but I'd love to tackle the beer list while skittling with other happy woodpushers. Wouldn't mind a great burger either.
Darn. If I would have know ahead of time that she was going to be there, I could have asked you to giver her a message.
Several e-mails sent to her over the past couple of years have gone unanswered. My mom and I were trying to contact her, and would still like to contact here, because she is using an image my mom drew, on her website, without my mother's permission.

(It's the illustration/drawing of the man playing chess, under the heading "Happy Father's Day.")
Susan (or whomever works on her website) took the image from my chess website, without my permission.
Over the years my mom has had several requests to use this picture and she's never said no... all she ever asks is that credit for her work be given.
Very nice of her!
Yes, Natalia, it was very nice of her and truly an honor. If you're ever in Kansas City, Missouri, we would love to spend some time with you as well!! (Notice the double exclamation points--this would be a *brilliant* move.) ;-)

Was this ever resolved?
It's really a fun club, and we'd be honored to have more GMs visit. Kansas City is a fun town, too. :)
GM Susan Polgar visited our chess club--The Westport Chess Club of Kansas City, Missouri--last night! It was a pretty cool deal. Here is the story and some sweet photos of her:
