You are right, i copy paste from wikipedia. Atleast it help some people who visit this site about the grandmaster title that they might not think of..

You cannot become FIDE rated by playing over the internet, what a strange notion. If you want a FIDE rating you must attend FIDE (OTB) tournaments.
If you want to attain you fide rating, it easy, go to your preference/account setting and key in your fide rating and press save. Good to go..
