i see no evidence for chess maiking players mad.....im sure fischer drank coffee as well as played chess, whos to say it wasnt the coffee,? or the kind of socks he was wearing? lol i think if you are going to go insane then thats that, what board game you play has no bearing :-)
Maybe its about the same concept as a crazy professor. You get mad by studiyng too hard.

I think the elite of any field is bound to turn out a higher percentage than average of insanity...
Great poets and writers, great artists, scientists, etc. all have a abnormal rates of turning insane.

I didn't realize I was giving that implication, I mean, the website specifically had the author's name in the url, but then again, on the internet, everybody's anonymous. So, yeah. I had to be sure not to take credit for somebody else's work.
