Goals for a semi-newb

I'm asking for a friend.

Let's say you're approx 1000 Daily and 600 Rapid and you've hitting 7 months of play/practice but still pretty much suk at it. This friend still doesn't have a goal so does following seem reasonable outline to help them land at 1500 Daily and 1000 Rapid by January 1st?

  1. Puzzles twice daily, 30 minutes each 1 hour/day
  2. Opening principles (solidifying their chosen few openings and learning difference between Openings and 'opening principles.' 1 hour/day
  3. Play bots at slightly-stronger level (makes no sense since I have two levels). Suggest 1200-1500 level bots. 1 hour/day equal to 2 games ?
  4. Endgame study 1 hour/day
  5. Analyze game of top player 3 hours/day
  6. Play Daily game and go SLOW and study each move 2 hours/day

My friend only plays for fun but has deep desire to understand far deeper this incredible game. They have 10-12 hours a day in which to devote and they aren't afraid of hard work. I told them that ratings don't matter but it IS an indication of growth to a certain degree otherwise it's difficult to know if the techniques employed are viable.

They will not play faster than Rapid 45, I think. Is the balance off that you can see or are there any other suggestions or goals we're missing? Thank you for all input (whether it pleases my friend or not). :-)

ADDED: Oh and play just for pure fun at least 2 hours a day.

ADDED AGAIN: We could cut out the last 'fun part' since ALL of it IS fun!

Thank you for responding Kings4Charity. :-) Is that 'heavy' in a good way or a bad way, please?

Yes indeed, Nathaniel ... and my friend said "Tell them they all are just jealous." I've got to agree! Thank you for helping us get on track! :-)
