Good chess player?

What rating would MOST people consider a "good chess player? I know it's subjective, but what's your idea of one. I know it's not my rating because I don't have one, and haven't played. I'm just curious.

a good chess player has a rating (on chess.com) of at least 1400-1500. That probably sets the standards for "good". Then there's great, excellent, master, grandmaster,etc....

Interesting.

For an otb tournament player, adult tournaments, minimal competency c.1300. Many have first ratings around here.

Average adult USCF c. 1600. Breaks even in lower sections of local tournaments likely.

1800 USCF a good local player.

c. 2000 USCF Big fish for the smallish pond. Yes it is relative.

Attempts to convert otb to online CC have been plentiful here, but subtract a bunch--some say 200, and some say 500--from the CC, but as has also been noted the rating pools are different, etcetera.

Depends a lot on the "rating pool" but out of those in the site that- do not use opening databases, do not use analysis board and who don't spend 2 days on a move even in CC then 1500-1600 is good or you could just look at the live rating, which in blitz 1500 will point you in the direction of a good player.
