Good Days and Bad Days...

Hello everyone. I have been playing for close to two years now and have managed to reach 1700 within this time. Ever since I reached 1600 however, I sometimes suddenly hit a rut and drop several points worth of rating. I get terrible tunnel vision, miss tactics that can be called basic at my level (sometimes I just straight up hang pawns and pieces), throw any advantage I get out of the opening, and just seem incapable of winning.

That said, on good days I really feel like I understand the positions I get and how they should be played out. I know that good and bad days are a part of every sport, but is there a way to reduce the number of bad days and simultaneously increase good days?

I find that how much sleep I get, time of day, distractions in my life etc. affect my play. I have best brain focus around 10:00 am and play then. Find for yourself what time and place suits your chess game and stick with it. Regardless we are all human and will have good and bad days.
