While reading thru some of the threads at this site I've noticed that some people get very very upset when they find a thread about a topic that has been discussed thousands of times.

I'm one of them.

---   Since you seem to really " Enjoy " the old old threads from years ago I've brought back a very old thread just for you ( on How Chess Improves People ), I hope that you enjoy it   lol.

i agree with the OP, i prefer to analyze the game as soon as it ends, no matter if I won or lost, so i very rarely accept a rematch.

Thanks for the post.

And I see more threads on this subject again and again. People please move on if your opponent will not give you a rematch ( there are lots of fish in the sea   lol ).

I don't care.

---   Aha I see what you mean, maybe or maybe not. You don't care enough to waste your precious time to leave a post in a thread on a subject that you don't care about ? Or you don't care about people that become very upset if you don't accept a rematch because you secretly hate all of your opponents ? Or perhaps you just don't care about anything at all ? ( And I don't care if you post here again or not   lol ).

Bad News people, we have been called COWARDS !!! Yup a new thread is on the go and anyone NOT accepting rematches is a Coward. Somehow an old saying came into my mind: It is better to be a Live Chicken than to be a Dead Duck   rofl.

badenwurtca

Btw my answer is still the same: No Rematches   lol.

Rematch offers are uncouth, offensive,  and in extremely bad taste. Saying one of two things about the opponent. After win, bad player undeserving of rating and  offerer wants to  mine this motherload of potential rating points gain for all it's worth. After loss, bad player undeserving of rating and offerer wants to fix this rip in the universal order that allowed such a lousy player to beat such a phenomenal player as himself.

I've got no problem with rematches.  I seldom request one but I usually accept when requested, as long as I get the request before I put in a new seek.  Many players' outrage over rejected rematch requests is amusing.  Apparently they believe that only a knave and a coward would deny them their God-given right to a rematch.  The guy beat you, man!  It's doubtful he's afraid to play you again.  You just demonstrated that you're not that scary.  Might be a good idea for chess.com to remove the rematch request.  But then the site would probably receive thousands of angry emails accusing it of violating players' constitutional right to a rematch and threatening legal action.

AlCzervik

yes, fbloggs. article 4, section 8.12b of the world constitution states that a rematch feature must be included.

If my opponent do some blunder and lose quickly i would concede a rematch, but if the first game goes too long then i would avoid it

Thanks for the posts.

And another batch of the " Please Re-match " threads have been started. Same answer: No No No ( You do NOT need to accept a re-match ).

You know, I used to routinely accept rematch requests too.  But eventually I got tired of seeing rematch threads created by whiners who consider a rematch a fundamental human right.  I predict you'll also get to the point that you start rejecting all rematch requests.  I just know it because you sound an awful lot like I did just a few months ago.  Hey, wait a minute!  You're me!
