Well it would seem that based on some recent threads here this thread needs to be brought back yet again. The main point here is that NO it is NOT necessary to accept a re-match ( to review: NO --- NO --- NO etc etc etc ).
Uh....... What? Hello! If someone beat you, that doesn't mean you get a rematch. There are MILLIONS of people that you can play with, why a rematch?

Just saw another one where they say "You owe a Rematch ". Yes if I go to the Bank and borrow some money then I owe them something, but not a re-match in Chess, No No No ---

That's all in your head dude. Sounds much more like your problem/issue than anyone else's. If you get your feelings hurt so much by losing, either get better, don't play, or learn to handle loss better. Most people here don't have an audience for our 1:1 games online, so you're off in some fantasy world.

--- Yup someone brought that thread back again. If you borrow money or if you are requested to pay some taxes then you owe something. Otherwise the answer is: NO NO NO NO ( etc etc ).
I play 30min games. if I'm (IM) willing to play more than one and if they send a rematch, I'll give them one chance only to win the points back. I'll only play two games in a row with someone.

points don't really matter for players at our level.
hey, 'ya never know. you may make a friend here where you play many games. i suggest you are not hard and fast with your "rules".
I was recently working with a guy and when we had lunch we played a five minute game.
It ended quickly, and we played another. After the second game, he asked if I would like to play again. I replied, no, I need to eat.
We ate our lunch.
Anyone that has a problem with rematches denied is not someone you want to play again.
