On Chrome OS Google doesn't allow you to download this extension at all, for security reasons. Fair enough... I'd rather not have a feature than a hacked computer.
So is there a way to, at least, view PGN files? Or copy and paste them? I tried to load one into Google Docs but it barfed. If you double click on the file you are taken to Google store to find a pgn reader, but there isn't one.
This Google Chrome extension came out (i think) a while back. Then some changes were made to the Chrome browser and the viewer could not be installed. However, for a while you could install it, only if you installed some developer stuff onto chrome. But soon that failed as well.
That is when I think the developers stopped working on the app altogether.
The good news is that it is working again. At least it worked on my browser, which is the latest self-updated version.
The reason I got it was to quickly view some pgns on my local drive, without having to load any of the major databases. It is just a handy little app.
You can also view PGNs that are online. I haven't tried that feature yet.
You can get it here:

The features are listed on the page given above.
To install it you have to follow these steps:
In Chrome, you can follow these steps to add the extension:
It can load PGN files with multiple games in it. I don't know what is the max. I loaded a PGN with 18,000 games; it struggled a bit but finally managed to load it up. PGNs with 2000 games were no problem.
