Hi exalted Chess.commers,

I'd be very interested to know your thoughts on why you join groups/teams and what you want and expect from your membership of them. Also, what are your favourite teams/groups and why? This would really assist the superadmins/admins in the structure and management of their groups/teams.

Looking forward to your repliesSmile.

Thank you and good luck with your chessWink.

My favourite group is Chess Nuts because it is the best group in chess.com and on the planet!! lol

well you asked, and yes obviously I am a tad biased Wink

chess_kebabs

Well I didn't want to brag too much Mikey, but since you asked Wink

Chess Nuts is no.1 in vote chess for ELO rating, or was approx. 1 month ago, haven't checked since then.. that is we have the highest percentage of wins in chess.com

We made the Grand Final for TM Championships (team matches).

We always make the finals for Speed Games.

We are a highly active and social group.

I am constantly told by members that Chess Nuts is their favourite group.

We are having continuous competitions in Nuts with prizes of 2 months and 1 month diamond memberships.. donated by moiself.

Our team spirit is always very positive and very high.

I try my best to ensure harmony pervails there and that the group is content and enjoying themselves.

And that's pretty much it in a NUTSHELL!

If anyone would like to join my group Chess Nuts you will be most welcome, as long as 16 and over and you're not a bad guy :p

Agreed Richie (Schachgeek).... I think I've only booted 2 or 3 members in the time of Nuts existence which is 16 months. And they were very aware why...

Well my Favourites are listed below

  • We Chat Central America - This group was given to me by a friend who created the most popular group on here.
  • Light Force - I created this group out of a dream and to say it is the second group or team that has got better as time evolves with my players and we reached the Q/F's of the last SVC season and lost to Chess Nuts :s.
  • All the other groups I'm part of and I'm glad to say that because there are too many to individually list here.

I really think what makes a good group/team is very good communication from the admins to the people and also trying to help others out who need it the most. As for numbers in a group I rate them all equal because that is what a person likes in a group.

I also agree that the groups that kick people out of groups will be a bad choice if they don't communicate to you why they have booted you out in the first place.

Well i chose Wallyjacks Wonderfull Wizards Of Oz as my favoruite group as i love the team spirt we have. And i chose to join it as mike was the admin and i seen how much work he put in to the scotland team. So when you have a leader like that it makes the group and i have to say i love being an admin and proud to be part of it. Also we have forums ladders and pyramids which adds to the group too. And what do i expect from my membership just what im already getting. Oh im sucking up now lol no in all honestly its a great group and its growing all the time and same goes for Wallyjacks Premuim Members GroupSmile

Not to derail the thread but it's happened to me twice that I've been booted without cause from two different groups - mere speculation on my part but in both cases the admin who did the deed was a friend of a member that I'd submitted some abuse reports on (and whom was eventually banned from the site). So booting me from the group was payback I guess.

Their loss Richie...
