I would suggest the scotch gambit. If you know how to play it then it works very well. Theirs a great video on remote chess academy on it that you can watch.

The Scotch gambit is a really bad gambit. It is easily refuted.

Also there is no need for OP to learn a whole new opening for no reason.

Not one I play myself, but it’s perfectly sound… one of the better choices if he’s set on gambits.

You can say that for evans, Englund, fandom gambit against the dutch because I forgot the name, Danish gambit, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. They are as easy to defend against as other gambits. I am waiting for someone to say that this is the wrong way to study chess

Gambits vary in soundness, for sure. Obviously famous examples like the queen’s gambit are so sound we forget that white technically gives up the pawn. The Evan’s gambit that you mentioned was a huge favourite of Gary Kasparov and he had great success with it. I, even today, had a great game in the Budapest gambit. Playing with gambits (provided you’re happy to study them) is a great idea.

Check my opening forum called The Colle-Zukertort explained. It includes the dot at the end I don’t know why I did that. Please answer the questions asked at #5 and #6 amd feel free to ask more about the opening there.

I'm fairly new to studying openings. It was mostly a waste of time early on, until I started to understand basic principles, I mean. But now, it's helped me, for the last minth or two approximately.

Anyway, I really like the Rousseau Gambit right now, played as Black against e4. At first, it looks like you don't know how to play, which I find amusing. And it has some exellent traps... some 'obvious moves' by White are actually blunders, the first being exf5 in this position:

Now, just to be bragging, my best game so far with the Rousseau Gambit.

After exf5 the main line is 4..e4
