Hacking and cheating

Has anyone else come across players like ******** who have found a way of hacking the system and cheating? He was able to make his king disappear, take my pieces with non-existent pieces and get his rook to jump a pawn to take my piece

It's not cheating, 'cause it's impossible. I believe it's a bug (if it is true what happened).

Maybe it's bug when you can't see your pieces. Just a small box etc.

I think he knew what he was doing - he took one of my pieces by jumping his rook over one of his own pawns. It's obviously not impossible as I saw him do it. I guess chess.com could look at the game and try to work out how their system has been hacked.

No, chances are its a browser image cache issue.

Ok - I apologise. Having replayed the game I believe this was a bug rather than someone hacking or cheating.

His pieces disappeared when he moved them - not always, just sometimes - giving the impression that something weird was going on and pieces were making illegal moves. I apologise for naming my opponent and thank the chess.com guys for removing his name from my original post. Just a bug to fix then.

Really? I was using tha app on my iPad - it's the way I always play and I've never had a similar problem, despite playing more than 200 games

Yes this has happened to me too when using the ios app. Very rarely though. Pieces just randomly vanish!

Stop playing for the moment and press reset and the pieces should reappear. If you do this enough times, usually the person will just give up.

This idea is not very feasible in 1 min Bullet games but it also should compensate for the lag in time.

Honestly, I do not know what the hell I just said but my buddy is telling me about it.

Finally, block him like you would someone who uses an engine or otherwise.
