Hans is still very young and has had to provide for himself at a much younger age than most so people should weigh that into their opinions.

I mean we all saw the "humbled Hans" figure at least once already in the Piers Morgan interview and he went back to crazy Hans, so unless he's showing an ongoing willingness to be civil I ain't buying it. Time will tell if he manages to grow up.

Not a chance, unless Stockfish speaks for itself.

All 4 matches went the way I thought they would. Hans clearly isn't at the level of the other 3 BUT... he's still improving. Magnus said he thinks Hans is miles and miles ahead of where he was 2 years ago. We will see how much impact Kramnik has on Hans, if at all.

As long as he learns about chess from Kramnik and doesn't get brain damage from conspiracy delusions he'll be just fine. Kramnik may not be the most up to date player but he has a lot of experience Hans can profit off of.

He's the only player to beat Kasparov in a match. That first match with Karpov never concluded so nobody won it. An interesting fact about Kramniks early days is that he was 2650 and STILL just had the IM title. That's how fast he was still improving at an elite level. Also, there's no way to know if he's even a good teacher. Just because a player has amazing skills doesn't mean they're a good teacher/coach. Sometimes the best teachers are lower rated masters.

Afaik Kramnik also has a lot of experience as a teacher. I didn't experience him in that role myself so I can't say if he's a good one, if you believe the internet then he's a great coach and teacher.

That combination between Hans and Vlad is a bit funny and ironic. One of them is known for being the guy that has the cheating accusations swirling around him and the other is known for excessive accusations of cheating and supposed out of control paranoia over cheating. Wild and funny combo.

Hans just now reached #15 in the world live rankings after his win against Leinier Dominguez in round 3 of the U.S. championship.

well actually a few years ago he was found cheating online, i think. Not OTB, but people still think he cheated OTB, even though there was no cheating proof other than a past charge.

Was there a charge? I don't remember that there was.

I feel there is a generation changing going on the chess world. The "old guard" players are slowly getting replaced by younger players of the new generation.

Hans is currently number #17 in the world. I think he might be one of the World Champion contestant of the new generation in the future.

People like Hans, Nordibek, Arjun, Praggnanandhaa, Firouja, Vincent Kimmer and maybe Duda and Yi Wei, and of course, Gukesh. Those guys will compete for who will be the next world champion now that Magnus and the players of his generation are starting to slowly retire.

I don't know. Maybe Hans might become the World Champion in the future. I legit don't know who gonna be.

Hans was found guilty of cheating on chess.com and banned when he was younger. After being punished, analysts agree that Hans stopped cheating on online chess. There is no proof that Hans ever cheated in over the board chess. Personally I believe that the controversies surrounding Hans is way over pushed, and seeing a young chess grandmaster face so much public negativity to a point where it is crippling his career make me feel shameful for the chess community, that I am a part of, to let this happen.
