Black's 18. Rh2? was supposed to be Rxh1. But I misclicked and it cost me the game. 8[

Has anyone else had something similar happen to him?

ChessMan00

Yeah! It really ticks me off!

AlCzervik

I bet it's happened to the majority of players here.

AnonymousP

Yup, but luckily I think I've only done it once since I joined here.

b3nnyhaha

you should have lost with 16. Qxf7# anyway so.

Seraphimity

often enough that I've had an opponent once not take the piece thinking surely it was a devious trap..

stmalo

happens to everyone, usually notice it immediately adter hitting submit.

This once happened to me in a cc game! I clicked submit instead of analyze. My opponent was obviously confused, because he took a lot more time on that move, and he ended up not taking my piece.

if you hadn't said rh2 was a missclick i'd be inclined to believe that it was a serious move considering the other crazy blunders

Ouch!  Mental note...don't post games in the public forum.

I've lost and won due to misclicks.  I've won in spite of major misclicks (I did this recently, but it isn't worth showing), and probably lost in spite of major opponent misclicks.  I've won games where I blundered away my queen, and lost games when I was up a queen.  I've played games in which both players blundered away their queens at different stages of the game.  I have castled into mate-in-one, and had opponents do the same for me.

I have delivered Fool's Mate more than once.  I beat a master once with a variation of the theme of Reti's Mate (though he may have just been testing me, I'll never know).  I have won games after using positional exchange sacrifices, though the compensation in those cases was significant and lasting.  I have sacrificed my queen for two minors and won (only after my opponent had already blundered away his queen for a bishop, though).  I have won and lost games in which mate came as a surprise to both players.

This is the world of bullet chess!

I would guess that probably 20 of my bullet losses and a few blitz are from misclicks, my mouse is very old.  Many times I've accidentally moved my king to f8 or f1 when trying to castle, then proceeded to throw all my pieces away in rage lol

Has anybody NOT?

Yeah, mouse problems... I'd had this mouse for probably 6 years until one of the buttons stopped working.  Before switching to a new mouse I made a test bench type of thing to measure the sensitivity.  The new mouse was just a tiiiiny bit different, but enough to screw me on up in some speed games until I got used to it.

my oppenent has, I had a mate in one and he saw it, made a wrong move, and said, "misclick"

Nennerb

Terrible misclick (I was black). I intended to move my pawn, but my queen unfortunately took the fall. I would've won 15 rating points... if only.

cyramd

It happened to me when I was moving my queen from right to left and just as I released my queen to capture a piece, the board shifted to the left because an add appeared on the right on the screen at that exact split second, causing me to drop the queen one square to the right of what I intended.

ChessOfficial2016

After you made a mouseslip or a misclick, try clicking the square you want to move to and not by dragging it.

Almost everybody who plays online has lost a game or two because of a misclick. Just part of life
