Has Anyone Played Chess Using An Hour Glass Type of Time Control

Just wondered about this today... What would a game of Chess be like with say 30 seconds or maybe a minute on the clock moving back and forth as players made their moves.
I remember using a Pictionary(sp) timer, a small, plastic ~30 second hourglass timer for a move clock in elementary school. My friends and I used it so no one would take too long.

Yes, uncle Jalavan and I use sandfilled hour glass now. One minute. Old clock broke and we are waiting for DGT-2010.
