Hi, and welcome. Chess.com does protect against cheaters. The way they do it is undisclosed (and should stay that way) due to people trying to beat the system. That is not something to worry about if you are a REAL chess player who does not depend on a CPU. :) Good luck and have fun!
it's depends to us. if we are cheating what for???? because our tactic and strategy will not improve. sometime i play live chess with cheating people. so that's way now i just play online chess. i suggest you to enjoy the game and try to improve ourself
How does Chess.com detect cheating?
How often does Chess.com catch cheaters?
Thanks for the quick responses. Are tournaments broken with a bunch of cheaters?
Looking forward to gettine the mobile app and playing while at work.
I would not worry about cheaters too much. They cheat themselves first and foremost. Having said that, it's great that Chess.com is actively having a cheat detectors program.

Hard to say. I think it's best to assume that none of your opponents are cheating unless they have been banned by chess.com. A lot of lower rated players blame their losses on their opponent cheating, but they don't have the knowledge to detect it. I've been playing for years on this site and I've only every suspected one person who cheated. Only after playing serveral games did I suspect him, and I just simply sent a ticket.
Have fun and focus on learning, that's my advice.
Hi
I used to play online chess awhile back on AOL. I always came accross the "cheaters".
People would have some a chess software alt tabbed playing my moves against a strong Chess AI (for example chessmaster). Therefore leading them to an easy win and allowing them to rank up and look "cool".
So ever since then I have always strayed away from Online play.
I recently joined the chess.com community because I want to play real people and better myself.
How does chess.com prevent such "cheating" in online tournament play? Is it a trust thing?
