When you are a new player who's only played a few games, you lose/gain huge amount of points. This is to try and see what skill level you are at chess. As you play more games, the points lost/gained will slowly go down. I'd say that after playing around 25~ games, the points lost/gained will be around 6-10.

Good evening guys, could you please tell me why this player was deducted more than 70 points（from 875 down to 797）after the game while I gained only 7 points? Why so many points lost when only one game failed? Thanks ！
This calculation system is always mysterious to me.
