ok, so I am only rated 1400; I hope this helps.
1. work on tactics: "chess is 99% tactics". Chess dot com tactics trainer and chess mentor are good for this.
2. Work on you weak points, for instance, if you aren't good at the endgame, work on that. Chess dot com posts lots of opening tutorials (openings are my weakest point).
3. at 1900 (is that you uscf rating?) its hard to move up from. But if you keep improving on you weak points and tactics, you should get better, so work hard.
4. Play alot of games.
