Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips or things to look out for when it comes to breaking past 2k puzzle rating or 1k rapid chess. I've seen a lot of posts and people say "just do more puzzles and games" and while I do understand the sentiment I was just wondering if there are habits or things to look out for that would enhance and improve my understanding and learning of my games and puzzles.
So far I've noticed I struggled with multi mates (2-3 or above step mates), as well as multi trading (as in trading multiple units or pieces for an piece overall advantage). It feels like which each game and puzzle I seriously just don't understand what my problem is with these and it feels like I'm just making really stupid mistakes, it also just doesn't feel like I'm improving at all when understanding this. I've avoided studying openings to work on my foundations but I have no idea if this was a good or bad idea. Any pointers? Any input or help would be really helpful, thanks!
