I'm am rubbish at solving tactics via a computer screen and I don't know why. I'm like, 80% better when i set the problem up on a real chess board and i can see the solution straight away but by the time i have set the board up, i'm only destined for one lonely point.

can anyone help me?

Cheers

At your rating, I'd be using the chessboard to play over games, not for tactics puzzles.
The 2D board is the same as a diagram in a book, so I don't really see why it would be so problematic, but ok, maybe you shouldn't bother with them.

You win a trophy urk....well done!

Maybe it's something to do with looking at a computer screen rather than the 2d diagram. One thing is for sure, it definitely affects my concentration!

So do you reckon i should just work through annotated games instead? is there a website with good annotated games?

I just recommend playing through unannotated games from some collection.
Other people recommend specific books.

You have learned the most important lesson about studying.  Using a real board, and pieces.  Dont get caught up in the rating, get caught up in the learning.
