You need to practice lots and lots of tactics. Also, make sure you know how to checkmate with K+Q vs K, K+R vs K, and basic opening principles. Every move take the time to look for checks and captures for you and your opponent. It's really that simple.
Don't get distracted by silly stuff--like playing super-fast blitz games, memorizing opening lines, advanced strategy, etc. That's how you get stuck at that level. (:

I Know how to play chess its just i want to get better. And chess mentor cant help me get better:(
Thats some good tips. I can play you if you want, in a unrated match. I know i am not the best teacher/player, but i know the basic stuff, and can show you if you want. Just challange me or send me a message.
I am not very good at chess. I tried to use chess mentor but It doesn't really do anything. Help!
