Are you sure you aren't just being paranoid?
high elo rapid full of cheaters - CANNOT ABORT GAMES

i've commented about this in reddit aswell. it seems like people do not care about the problem and loved me make me a culprit. No, i'm not paranoid, and you're 1090 rated. You don't know how many obvious cheaters i get paired to at 2150+

True, I started blocking opponents with recent accounts and questionable performance. After a while I checked the blocked list to see what had happened to them and over 80% had been canceled by chess.com. And the other 20% I had mostly blocked recently.

Aborting games seems like extremely counterproductive to me. If you play out the game, that game will be a piece of evidence against the guy (if he indeed is guilty). Then you report, and hopefully you'll get your points back. If you abort instead, none of that happens.
Not to mention that you abort a lot of games against guys who just have a win streak and nothing else.

But the problem is so frequent that you are only playing against cheaters. Furthermore, being massacred several times by people who are using an engine, but you are not sure, undermines your self-confidence, which seems to me very important in the decisions we make in chess in the following games.

In this case, you probably shouldn't play on chess.com at all. There are other sites.

or play just against bots, like you

I've written about this topic before - You get matched with a new-created account, with barely some games and an obviously suspect winning rate. This happens all the time, and that's why i always check my opponents profile before playing my first move. I end up aborting a lot of games because of this, but after aborting a certain amount of games - you LOSE POINTS.
Please chess.com - In order to stop extremely inconvinient occasions, ALLOW players to abort ANY games created within less than 3 months. It would make this site so much better to play chess. Who agrees? I can't take it anymore. How can we make it so this reaches chess.com????
i mean or you can report them and if they were cheating, they are banned and your points refunded?
I've climbed way past your rating in the ladder and didn't need to abort that many games.

Look at this example, member chandand144 played against me in Oct/24 and then got banned, then after a few months I was paired with a member called [removed -- MS] who had the account since 2020 and still plays on chess.com
There should be a way to link the player's fide id to the chess.com account and create a league only for fide members
or, an option to only be paired with fide members and/or those who pay for chess.com, because at least it is less likely that they will cheat, because then there would be a risk of some reasonable punishment

Happened to me as well a few times, extremely annoying. It's frustrating enough that you have to check every opponents profile before the game, but then you also get punished if you do your diligence and abort too many. How about fixing your broken cheat detection instead of punishing the players

Even if you get your points refunded, why should you have to suffer playing a game against a guy who is likely cheating? And then you also have to hope chesscom actually bans the guy within a month, which might not happen even when they are clearly cheating.
Maybe you have been lucky, or it's just you have only played a few rapid games over past 1.5 years. It's not really a problem in any other pool

I tried to start 5 games 15+10 today and they all had less than 1 month of account and more than 2000 rating in rapid

I do not understand how having played few games in the past few years means that there is a huge wave of cheaters. Why would there be a surge in cheaters during the times when I wasn't playing rapid?
Of course, I could be lucky, lucky enough to go from 2100 to almost 2400 rapid (without the aid of a high glicko) and encounter few cheaters... which seems unlikely.
Also, pretty much everyone I've strongly suspected of cheating has been banned after I reported them. The rest, I just treat them like a normal loss. Perhaps our experiences are different. I don't abort any games, so if I meet someone who turns out to be a cheater you'll see it in my rated game history. I get about 2-4 fair play closures per page of games, and most of them likely didn't even cheat in our game (since I didn't lose).

The perception of cheating levels is orders of magnitude more than the actual amount. The vast majority of games and players are clean.

The site closed more than 100,000 accounts in February for fair play violations and has a full team of staff working on reports along with some automated systems for detection.
