I admire your stretch of mind. But, your sapphic arguments and condescending obstination to belittle others' arguments while boasting your pseudo knowledge are only turgid rethoric. 

And, while Spanish, French, and other languages indeed come from Latin, it does not mean they are Latin. From a grammatical point of view alone, this is completely spurious. 

And, You studying Chinese glyphs (characters?) gives you some credibility, yes, but I am afraid that knowing a few characters is far from making you an expert on the matter.

Yes Xiangqi is in my language, which is not your elephant chess. Your elephant chess is the one copy the word Xiang(象) and simply call it elephant, why not you call 热线 as "popular thread" like you just simply translate Xiangqi as elephant chess....lol

热线is hotline which is the original meaning of it from English. 

While Xiangqi original meaning isn't elephant chess though

Hotline is not created in China, of course you need to keep the original meaning and respect it. While Xiangqi is the same, we mean it as elephant chess like you do.

If Xiangqi is invented in other country instead of China , then if they named it based on an elephant or whatever animals they want, then sure other foreign language will translate it precisely. 

However Xiangqi(象棋) when it's created in china, it isn't meant to be an elephant chess, however if you want to translate it as elephant in your language or other language it's up to you. Although it's not precise translation, but it's up to you what you want to call it, but at the same time do aware the native speakers don't meant it as elephant chess.

Nah let me teach you Chinese then , the character  热 can also mean popular and this definition has been existed thousands of years way longer then American one. Oh hot can be translate to popular in American too?...wow so which means American for hot is copying from Chinese then according to your logic for calling Xiangqi as elephant chess....🤙🤙🤙

People who are like you simply translating stuffs while ignoring the original context, is like simply translate hotline in Chinese as popular thread which is going too far....

that's what you did the same on calling Xiangqi as elephant chess lol, it's the same when other foreigner translate hotline into "popular thread", it doesn't make sense because its two different things.

For Chinese people it's comes to mind as Xiangqi, not elephant chess. 

Maybe for some English or vietnamese like you it would be seen as elephant chess, I have no objection for you guys to translate it into whatever you want, but its sounds funny as a native speaker who play Xiangqi 

For thousand years ago until now in China, people never ever define it as elephant chess. Never lol
